New places and opportunities to meet others
Hello! I am now 40 years old (which is great, but other people don't enjoy this age for some reason) and sober, and have been having a heck of a time finding places to meet people. I live in Detroit, which is a big drinking city, and it is also population poor...the suburbs are *far* and diverse, and it is hard to come up with ideas (I am willing to drive if I have an aim or purpose). What are some ideas for types of places to go where there might be some 40-somethings to be social with?

What do you like to do for fun? Go out and do that, you may find people there.. Use Meetup,com to try and find meetups with things you like. Look for local groups too which share common interests. Does that sound like something you would want to do?
